‘Just Go With It’ Powers Credico Event

The Credico Awards and Gala Dinner 2024, recently held at the Super Bowl and King’s Ballroom in Sun City, was a vibrant blend of celebration and professional networking. ‘About Entertainment’s’ chosen technical service provider, ‘Just Go With It’, ensured flawless audiovisual execution for both the awards show and the after-party, and smooth streaming of the event to partners in Africa and international guests. About Entertainment curated an engaging lineup of performers, including the sensational headline act, Goodluck, at the after-party.

This year marked the third consecutive year that ‘Just Go With It’ managed the technical aspects of the Credico event, which took place on March 26, 2024. “Our focus has consistently been on refining the audiovisual components to enhance the overall event experience,” stated Sean Bakos, owner of Just Go With It PTY LTD.

The after-party event featured a high-energy performance by the popular band Goodluck, supported by an extensive lighting rig from beamZ. Sean Bakos elaborated on the expectations involved in catering to high-profile acts such as ‘Goodluck’, stating, “Anyone who has worked with ‘Goodluck’ on their technical rider knows they are a professional outfit, even travelling with their own sound engineer and lighting designer. Their rider stipulates no less than 20 Intel fixtures, crowd blinders, four front profiles, 1000W strobes, hazers, and smoke machines.”

In response to these requirements, ‘Just Go With It’ employed various beamZ lighting fixtures to meet the exacting standards required for such a dynamic performance, chosen for their reliability and the excellent support from beamZ distributor, StageOne.

“I have owned many different brands of lighting over the years, but nothing beats good service. I am very happy with the build quality and value for money of the beamZ brand,” Bakos explained.

The visual and lighting show for the ‘Good Luck’ performance in the King’s Ballroom was plotted by ‘Good Luck’s’ lighting designer, Grant Olivier, and was complemented by the dedicated efforts of ‘Just Go With It’s’ team. Led by Keegan Scott, Head of Lighting and Design, the team included Caleb Heath and King Nkosenthsa, who handled the gala and after-party lighting, with Leonard Mamabolo overseeing video production. They orchestrated a dynamic atmosphere featuring 28 moving head lights, 28 par can lights, two stage blinders, and other atmospherics and video elements.

The equipment list included a range of beamZ fixtures: six beamZ Pro Ignite300 LED moving heads, six beamZ Pro Tiger E 7R MK3 moving head spots, Eight beamZ Panther 85 LED beams, and four beamZ Fuze 1910 wash moving heads, complemented by four beamZ Fuze75S spot LEDs. Additionally, the venue was illuminated by 24 beamZ BAC302 LED Par 64s and four beamZ COB100W par lights with zoom capabilities. The atmospheric effects were enhanced by two beamZ SB400 4-way LED stage blinders, a beamZ Pro LF3000 low fog machine, and a Qtx Hazer Pro, rounding out a comprehensive setup that perfectly matched the energy of Goodluck’s performance.

The show was backed by an impressive FBT audio system tailored to create a powerful auditory experience. The main system comprised four FBT Line Array Horizon VHA406A speakers paired with four FBT Horizon VHA118SA 18″ Array Subwoofers, strategically positioned to cover the expansive space. Additional bass reinforcement was provided by four FBT Subline 118SA 18” Subwoofers placed at the front as side fills. Peripheral audio clarity was ensured by 10 FBT ProMaxx 114A Active Speakers used for side fills, delays, and as DJ monitors. The audio experience was finely detailed with two FBT Ventis Active Speakers, serving as front fills to ensure comprehensive sound coverage.

“The versatility and power of the FBT system ensured every note was crisp and captivating. Comparing FBT with other top brands, we found it superior in quality. Our ongoing switch to FBT equipment has been a game-changer for us,” commented Bakos, highlighting the role of FBT’s superior audio quality  in enhancing the event’s atmosphere.

A last-minute change in venue posed the only significant challenge, increasing the guest list and shifting the venue setup. “Thanks to our extensive inventory and agile planning, we managed the transition smoothly, ensuring a smooth event execution,” Bakos added.

Looking forward, Just Go With It PTY LTD is already preparing for the next Credico event in 2025, with plans to expand its FBT and beamZ inventory through continued collaboration with StageOne.
